Bio Acerola CamuCamu

Acerola (Malpighia glabra) are low-lying evergreen shrubs or small trees that usually reach between 1 and 3 metres once mature, although some have been found to grow as tall as 10 m! These plants belong to the Malpighiaceae family and they yield edible fruits.

One of the highlights of the acerola cherry is that it is rich in vitamin C – usually between 1300-1700 mg per 100 g of fruit – 30-40 times more than in oranges or lemons. Only camu camu has a higher natural content, which is around 3-4 times that of acerola. This high vitamin C content is just one of the reasons for acerola’s value in nutrition and medicine, with improving the immune system as a shining example.

The Complex Content of Bio Acerola – Camu Camu

Organic acerola from HANDO® is obtained from the acerola cherry. Acerola is a small, spherical stone fruit with a diameter of 10 to 15 mm. In practice, you can usually find frozen or pasteurised acerola juice for purchase. Organic acerola from HANDO®, produced as a powder through a spray freeze-drying process, is a highly valuable dietary supplement that contains these essential elements:

  • proteins
  • fibre
  • minerals

The fruit of the camu camu plant is around 3 cm large. The exceptionally high natural vitamin C content accounts for about 2-3% of the fresh weight of the harvested fruit. Its juice is gently freeze-dried in a spray-drying process designed to preserve the natural vitamin C. Camu camu extract contains:

  • iron
  • calcium
  • essential amino acids
  • proteins

Boost your Immune System – Confirmed Presence of Natural Vitamin C

Both organic acerola and organic camu camu from HANDO® have been proven to contain only natural vitamin C, making them the ideal supplement to take alongside Reishi Medicinal Mushrooms. These supplements were examined within the framework of a joint research project conducted by the University of Graz and the Joanneum Research Forschungsgesellschaft.
